Coleman Montana 4 review
By Richard Chalmers
It's important to keep in mind what this tent is and what it isn't. This is a large, heavy, bulky tent good for car camping where weight and bulk are not considerations. This is definitely not a backpacking tent. I bought this tent because it was very inexpensive and was looking for a tent to use a few times a year when we go car camping up in Maine.Pros:PRICE-for under $100 you just can't beat the priceROOM-this tent is very roomy. If you want to bring a lot of stuff, which we do when car camping, this tent will accommodate it all.HIGH-I'm 5'10" and can almost stand up in the tent.WATERPROOF-the first night we used this tent was in Acadia National Park in Maine it just poured buckets. Heavy rain all night long. The tent was dry as a bone in side.RUGGED FLOOR-the tent has a very thick, rugged floor that comes up the side walls about 5". Absolutely no need for a ground cloth.Cons:DIFFICULT TO SET UP-I've had a lot of tents in my life and this is by far the most difficult to set up. And it is not freestanding; you must stake down the corners and the rain fly.POOR VESTIBULE-the vestibule is so wide open that wind driven rain gets in there and gets things wet. You can't leave your shoes in the vestibule without them getting wet.WON'T STUFF-it seems impossible to stuff the tent into the provided stuff sack! It shipped in the stuff sack but Coleman must used some kind of machine to compress it because we've tried and tried to get it back in but can't do it. I had to find an old duffle bag at a yard sale to store it in.CONFUSING FEATURES-Coleman has placed guideline attachments at places where they're not needed and not put attachments at places where they are needed. Also, there is a little zipper next to the door that appears to have no function whatsoever. This is a good tent for the money, but if you have more to spend I'd recommend looking for something else.

Overall, very happy
By Adegboyega Adefope
Very good, but not fully waterproof... minor seepage in corners in heavy rain, best to lay it on another waterproof layer (footprint pad) for heavy rain.Maybe not the tent's fault but slightly noisy in heavy rain... maybe best under a tarp to keep the noise away from you.Good design... assembled it for first time on site at night with no problems... really easy. Also recommended the additional Coleman pin kit. Slightly heavier duty.

Camping woes
By Mark Conway
Tent is really nice, light weight and easy to carry. Very east to put up, might recommend replacing the tent pegs, the simple steel ones it comes with just wont last. The only problem we encountered was the fly support pole snapped the first day, under relative windy conditions, I would expect it to be stronger than that. however amazon replaced the whole tent on my return, when i complained to the web site, really good service
